1. The picture is sharper and the colours are more vibrant. A lot more detail can be seen; especially during dark scenes like the one with Phoebe stripping at the beach.
2. The DVD is uncensored. That means Willie Aames’ penis is not blurred out during the lengthy skinny dipping scene.
3. Last but not least, the DVD is full frame open matte with a lot more picture at the top and bottom of the frame and a little bit more on the sides too. The two love scenes are pan and scan however. This was probably done because Phoebe used a body double for these nude scenes.
Here are some comparison caps. The top pic is from the new DVD and the bottom pic is from the old DVD.

Here is a full screen vs. widescreen comparison for Havoc.
The top cap is from SDTV (480i) and is about 1.33:1 aspect ratio.
The bottom cap is from HDTV (720p) and is about 1.85:1 aspect ratio.
The R1 DVD has about the same aspect ratio and framing as the HDTV but less res.
The SDTV appears to be open matte meaning more picture on the top and bottom. The sides are also slightly cropped. However, during one sequence in the Bijou Phillips sex scene, the SDTV reverts to pan & scan. I’m assuming this is so they don’t show any unintentional nudity. Fortunately, they didn’t touch the Anne Hathaway scenes.

I was checking out the DVD of L’Empire des Loups (The Empire of the Wolves) earlier for the shower scene with Arly Jover (she played the main female vampire in the original Blade movie). I was a bit disappointed that there were no features on the disc when the french release had an extra two discs of features. I was pleasantly surprised however when I found a red trailer for Rampage: The Hillside Strangler Murders on the DVD. There are a grand total of three very dark frames of Brittany Daniel nudity right at the very end of the trailer. The best one is below.
